March 2014
Anne Shirley, Gilbert Blythe, Jane Andrews, Moody Spurgeon and Ruby Gillis have all recently graduated from their first year at Queens Academy in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Josie Pye failed her course, and has decided to spend her life working at the local post office in Avonlea. Josie and Moody have recently started courting and Moody has revealed that he plans to go into the ministry. Matthew Cuthbert has passed away, and Anne is currently living at Green Gables with Marilla Cuthbert and Rachel Lynde. Gilbert Blythe recently exchanged his posting at Avonlea Public School for Anne's posting at Carmody. Fred Wright and his father still own the general store, at which Diana Barry works as a cashier. Diana and Fred have been engaged for some time, and their wedding is set to take place this spring. Miss Stacy has moved back to Avonlea permanently, and is working as the superintendent of schools on Prince Edward Island.

April 2014
Spring is in bloom in Avonlea and everyone seems to be anxious for Fred Wright and Diana Barry's wedding which will be taking place near the end of the month. A new mysterious female doctor has arrived in Avonlea to work alongside Dr Blair which has shaken many of the townspeople. An exciting town meeting run by Rachel Lynde came to the conclusion that after a month trial the town would vote on whether or not Dr Maude Simpson may stay. Anne has finished the manuscript for her first story, "Averil's Atonement", and has mailed it off to Canadian Women Magazine having hopes it will be published. Gilbert has revealed his feelings to Anne, stating that he loves her, though Anne makes it clear that she does not want him to waste his time waiting for her. Minnie May Barry has gotten into trouble with Rachel Lynde's garden which has stirred up a small quarrel between Rachel and the Barry household. The engagement of Moody Spurgeon and Josie Pye has been announced, as well as the engagement of Ruby Gillis and American tycoon Herb Spencer. Moody has asked for Gilbert to be the Best Man in his wedding, and Gilbert accepted. Anne is now having second guesses about herself, wondering if she will ever meet a romantic suitor and marry.

May 2014
This month we went ahead a year in the plot. Anne Shirley has finished her first year of teaching, as well as all of the other scholars that graduated from Queen's Academy. Summer appears to have settled in Avonlea amongst all of the drama that has unfolded. Ruby Gillis convinced Anne Shirley to sneak away with her on an exciting trip to New York City where they spent time with Herb Spencer and his daughter and shopped for wedding dresses. Gilbert Blythe suffered from a bad concussion during a horse accident in a storm... His "misdiagnosis" from Dr Maude Simpson caused an uproar in the community causing a town meeting, vote, and Dr Simpson's resignation. She has left the Island to tend to her ill father in Toronto, but has stated she will soon return. Gilbert had planned on accompanying her back to Toronto so he could tour medical schools, which at first caused quite a bit of tension between him and Anne Shirley. But, at last minute decided it wasn't a good idea and that Dalhousie was his first choice.

This month, not one, but two weddings took place within our group of characters. First off, Moody Spurgeon and Josie Pye decided to run off to Charlottetown and elope. They are now boarding in town and looking for a house close by to purchase. Secondly, as we all expected, Fred Wright and Diana Barry wed at Orchard Slope in a beautiful garden ceremony. Anne Shirley was maid of honour and Minnie May Barry was the flower girl. They are now off on their honeymoon in Halifax and will return to renovate the old MacDonald place they purchased down the road from Orchard Slope. Rumours have surfaced that Fred Wright and his father may have to put the general store up for sale.

And finally, Gilbert Blythe proposed to Anne Shirley, practically twice within two days. She refused both times. Gilbert will soon be heading off to Halifax, as he was accepted at Dalhousie medical school. Anne will begin another year of teaching in Avonlea, and continue furthering her studies by correspondence.

June 2014
A month full of new beginnings. Fred & Diana Wright returned from their honeymoon in Halifax and are in the midst of renovating their new home. Gilbert Blythe left for Dalhousie Medical School, where he has rekindled an old friendship with Miss Christine Stuart. Anne Shirley has begun a new year of teaching, and has welcomed an interesting new student into the classroom; Emmeline Harris. Anne has made an acquaintance of her (quite older) wealthy father, Captain Morgan Harris. They have gotten together on numerous occasions for the sake of Emmeline, but perhaps more than a friendship is budding between the two.

It was announced earlier in the month that Anne won a contest for her short story, "Averil's Atonement". She received the $100 grand prize from Rolling's Reliable Baking Powder Company... This was a contest that Anne was unaware of entering! Diana had entered her story without saying a word about it.

Anne is now a young and published authoress/teacher, Gilbert is a medical student, and Diana a housewife. A time of transitioning and new blossoming relationships has unfolded in Avonlea, and also abroad in Halifax.

July 2014
Romance has occupied the lives of two of our main characters.

Gilbert Blythe and Christine Stuart are officially courting. She will accompany Gilbert on his visit to Avonlea during the upcoming semester break.

Anne Shirley has seen much of Morgan Harris, who proposed marriage to her at a Dominion Day picnic. Her answer is undecided as of yet.

Morgan's sister, Pauline, and mother, Margaret, have arrived on the island. The Lloyd Mansion has been restored and the two of them along with Emmeline will temporarily live there. Morgan has left for the mainland on business, and before leaving pulled Emmeline out of school, at the request of his mother. Anne promised to give her answer to the proposal upon his return.

As for Josie and Moody Spurgeon, Josie's father bought them a large house just outside of Avonlea. Moody has also announced that he will go off to seminary at Redmond College. This means that Josie will be left alone in Avonlea for quite sometime.

Dr. Maude Simpson has returned to the Island from Toronto. She made a stop in Avonlea before moving on to her new practice in Summerside.

Tensions are still rising between Rachel Lynde and the Barry family. Miss Stacy said it best in a conversation with Anne; "Well, one thing is for certain--things with Rachel Lynde are never dull!"

August-December 2014
The group wasn't very active during this time due to busy school and work schedules. However, much has happened, and the story will continue to unfold...

Gilbert Blythe and Christine Stuart become engaged, and are the talk of all of Halifax - and Avonlea.

After many attempts of proposing marriage to Anne Shirley on their trip to Boston. Anne has finally realized her love and passion for Gilbert Blythe and will have no one else but him. Morgan Harris was left empty-handed and decided to move on with his family.

Diana and Fred Wright are expecting their firstborn child, who will arrive very soon.

After Gilbert becomes gravely ill with Scarlet Fever, Christine and himself break off their engagement, and he leaves school to return to Avonlea to be with his father.

Anne hears of the news of Gilbert's illness, and goes into a deep depression, not leaving her bedroom for a week. Marilla reveals to her that her very first book has been published, which helps brighten Anne's spirit's slightly. She catches up with Jerry Buote who offers to take her to see Gilbert. They finally confess their love for one another.

Gilbert finally becomes well, and Anne reveals to him that she has decided to stay in Avonlea for good and focus on her writing. Gilbert plans to return to medical school and finish his 3 years. On a romantic stroll along Lover's Lane, onto the wooden bridge, Gilbert proposes to Anne one last time and she finally says yes.

As Anne and Gil enjoy their life as an engaged couple, Miss Stacy, Marilla, Rachel, and Mrs Barry begin plans for a Christmas party at the town hall, in special honour of their engagement.

Christmas was a joyous time for the citizens of Avonlea, and the party turned out to be a huge success. Now is time for a new year full of bright new beginnings and prospects!
